New Toy!

Why am I not at a party 8:30pm Sat and lots of friends messaging me?  Got a new Nikon D70!  Thought I'd upload these random shots.  Hope I can finally realise all the crazy images in my head with this baby.  I promise lots of glamorous portraits, or at least lots of fun of me mucking around with my mates. Now to go to those parties... Watch this space

Firstly I'm not nerdy even though I'm DeviantArting at 2:40 am.  Just came back from coffee (yes crazy hour) with 20 new friends I made.  No beer, because they are all Muslims.  You see, I'd just spent the whole weekend volunteering at the IDA Deliberative Poll on Muslim Non-Muslim Relations.  Over the weekend 380 representative Australian citizens, including 40 Australian Muslims, randomly chosen in phone interviews from around Australia, gathered at Old Parliament House in Canberra to deliberate, discuss, and listen to expert presentations, on the topic of Muslim Non-Muslim Relations.  The exercise is conducted by a non-partisan independent

Guess I should use this a little more... These beautiful photos are courtesy of a Nikon D70, lent to me by a Chinese friend who I met on the internet.  They say never trust cyber strangers...  The surreal photos from Shanghai Railway Station were made when I shot some photos with a French guy I met on the internet.  The locals watched us with bemusement as we snapped away at a dirty little laneway. It's difficult striking a balance between taking beautiful photos of the cliched Shanghai, and finding something original that is not to abstract as to loose any connection with the city.  Is there such a thing as the 'soul' of a city built on co

Thank you so much for the :+fav: :boogie:
Thanks so much for the favorite.
Heheh it's funny that Gattaca and Jeff Buckley are the only two things we have in common though, everything else is completely different! Except for your favourite artists, they're all up there for me too.
Wagga isn't too bad, I really like Canberra. How did you go with that insane storm on Tuesday night?
Nobody's bad at drawing, you just need to practise ALL the time! Drawing anything and everything really helps, even if it's just a little sketch on the back of a receipt...!
Haha, but Gattaca and Jeff Buckley are all that matters! (well, that and world peace) Seriously it's such a stylish movie and has 3 big stars, don't know why more ppl aren't obssessed. Love to be an astronaut also but they don't really have a grad program...

Didn't get a drop up in Ngunnawal (about 12km north of the city) wierd place Canberra - but yes I agree, it's totally under-rated. Galleries, ample parking and cool clouds to say the least.

Have you read 'Brave New World'? Gattaca is loosely based on that, I'm fairly sure, such an awesome movie :D Love the mixture of ultramodern/retro/deco style about it.
Some relatives of mine live about 8-10 ks away from central and they didn't get anything nearly as bad as the hail storm, so weird how they can be so localized.
